  1. The ideas2IP website is an Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) website. Thank you for examining our privacy statement.
  2. The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore collects personal information to formulate and administer Intellectual Property (IP) laws and policies, promote IP awareness and provide the infrastructure to facilitate the greater development of IP in Singapore.
  3. If you choose to participate in this ideas2IP site or send us an e-mail for which you provide us with personally identifiable data, we may share necessary data with other Government agencies, so as to serve you in a most efficient and effective way, unless such sharing is prohibited by legislation. We will NOT share your personal data with non-Government or private entities, except where such entities have been authorised to carry out specific Government services.
  4. If you are only browsing this website, we do not capture data that allows us to identify you individually.
  5. IPOS honours and respects your privacy and pledges to protect the personal information which you provide to IPOS through the ideas2IP site, to enable IPOS to provide services to you as a visitor or user and the other users. Please note that the mere use of the ideas2IP site, including registration of an account, does not create a fiduciary relationship between you and IPOS.
  6. For your convenience, we may display to you data you had previously supplied us or other Government agencies. This will speed up the transaction and save you the trouble of repeating previous submissions. Should the data be out-of-date, please supply us the latest data. We will retain your personal data only as necessary for the effective delivery of public services to you.

By providing your personal information to IPOS, you thereby consent to allow IPOS to monitor your access to and use of ideas2IP site and its various services, to allow IPOS to contact you by e-mail, and to transfer this information to other Government agencies, for purposes of updating and enhancing IPOS’ records. The use of your information for these purposes will be kept to the minimum required. You are advised that, should they choose to provide information, the security of information transmitted over the internet cannot be guaranteed.

This Privacy Policy is not intended to, nor does it, create any contractual rights whatsoever or any other legal rights, nor does it create any obligations on IPOS in respect of any other party or on behalf of any party.
  13. The information is retained for as long as the purposes for which the information was collected exist. The information will be destroyed if you write to IPOS to deregister your account, thereby terminating your access to the ideas2IP site.
